Kristy, What type of work do you do? I'm a factory worker, and it requires occasional lifting. I was wondering if your job required you to stand, lift or twist ?? Thanks In Advance, from the Newbie

I can only speak for myself but I can say it wasn't "painful" it was "uncomfortable". With the meds Dr. McEwen gives, it is all very tolerable. I had my surgery on a Wednesday and tried to return to work on that following Monday, that was definite...

Hi All, I'm new here, just joined! I'm hoping to have my surgery this summer. Can anyone who has recently had surgery tell me what to expect? How quickly were you able to return to work? How much post-op pain was there? Thanks!

You're welcome Trish~
When I think back on how I felt those first few days...I remember feeling very tired and weak. Your food intake is pretty minimal at this point. So it's possible that 4 days might not be enough for you to feel ready to go back to work. But, everyone is different.
Take care!

Hi Trish~
Welcome! I had my surgery on Nov. 13th. I was surprised how well I did after surgery. There was some pain around the incisions but nothing that I couldnt tolerate. For me the pain meds were the worst part of it all. I don't like taking meds anyway and I had to open up the capsules and put them in flavored water...ick...nasty tasting. I was afraid they might be too large to swallow and get stuck in my band. Other than that I did very well.
I wouldn't know how quickly you would be able to return to work. I suppose that would depend on what you do for a living.
Good luck with your surgery!!!
Take care!
Rana
